They chanted, “Death to Khamenei”, “Death to the dictator”, “Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader (Khamenei)”, “This year, Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown”, “With or without hijab, onwards to the revolution”, and “All these years of crime, death to this velayat, (Khamenei).” By burning garbage bins and tires, the protesters blocked the streets and clashed with the suppressive agents. In some areas, such as Sadeghieh, regime forces opened fire at demonstrators.

In other cities as well, including Mashhad, Isfahan, Rasht, Gorgan, Tabriz, Arak, Shiraz, Qazvin, Karaj, Gohardasht, Kerman, Lahijan, Varamin, Sabzevar, Anzali, Dezful, Hamedan, Khorram Abad, Ilam, Amol, Ahvaz, Abadan, Shahr-e Kurd, Borujerd, Urmia, Ardabil, Zarin Shahr, Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Tabriz, Andimeshk, and elsewhere, locals, especially the youth, continued clashes with the suppressive forces. The state-run news agency IRNA wrote on October 26, “One of the IRGC intelligence agents in Malayer, Hamadan province, was shot and killed when chasing some riot leaders.”

Regime forces attacked the protest gathering of doctors outside Tehran Medical Council on Wednesday, wounded a number of them, and arrested several doctors. Following this brutal attack, the chairman and deputy of the board of directors of Greater Tehran Medical Council resigned. Doctors in Tehran protested against the security forces for preventing the treatment of the wounded and using ambulances for suppressive measures.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), said that the raging storm that spread across Iran yesterday showed that the youth and women of Iran deserve to take control of their destiny in a democratic Iran. They can and must uproot the velayat-e faqih (absolute rule of the clergy) and restore freedom in Iran and peace in the region.
