NCRI – Reports received from polling stations in Tehran and various other cities indicate that the Iranian people have overwhelmingly boycotted the sham Assembly of Experts elections.
In most polling stations in various populous districts of Tehran, such as Nezam-Mafi Mosque, Kashani Street, Imam Jafar-al-Sadeq Mosque, first and second squares in Arya-Shahr, Rassul-e Akram Mosque, Jamaran Street, Imam Reza Mosque and many other places, there were less than a handful of voters.

In most polling stations in various populous districts of Tehran, such as Nezam-Mafi Mosque, Kashani Street, Imam Jafar-al-Sadeq Mosque, first and second squares in Arya-Shahr, Rassul-e Akram Mosque, Jamaran Street, Imam Reza Mosque and many other places, there were less than a handful of voters. Reports from various cities, including Mashhad, Sabzevar, Roodbar, Dorood, Fereidoon-Kenar, Mahabad, Borujerd, Qazvin, Shahr-e Ray, and Karaj, state that polling stations were empty until noon.
In Lowshan, south of Tehran, the mullahs’ regime used a new machine to wipe out stamps on the identification cards of its own agents who already voted, enabling them to vote at other polling stations.
This morning, nearly 600 people protested against the ongoing elections at Esteqlal Square and Soltan Mosque in the north-western city of Mahabad. State Security Forces (SSF) units tried to attack people who resisted.
Young people set car tires ablaze and threw stones to combat the SSF units. People chanted, “Free all political prisoners.” A number of demonstrators were arrested by the SSF units and transferred to unknown locations.
