![Boycott_of_Irans_sham_election Iran's sham elections faced widespread boycott by Iranian people](https://www.ncr-iran.org/en/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Boycott_of_Irans_sham_election.png)
IRGC terrorists, perpetrators of four decades of killing, terrorism, and warmongering sent to new parliament
The Iranian regime is facing difficulty in announcing the fraudulent results of the vote tally due to widely acknowledged low participation in the election farce despite astronomical rigging. Some 24 hours after polls closed, the regime has not yet announced the results.
Unofficial reports of the count in some regions reveals an unprecedented boycott. IRGC’s Fars News Agency quoted Interior Ministry officials as saying that only 1.9 million people had voted in Tehran. That means that notwithstanding the several fold inflation of the figures, less than 20 percent of the eligible voters had cast their ballot in the capital.
The complete boycott of the sham election by #Iranian people was a positive answer to the call of Mrs. @Maryam_Rajavi

In announcing the voter turnout in different cities, officials refrained from providing the number of blank or disqualified ballots, which according to reports is as high as 10 percent of the vote cast in some districts.
The few handpicked foreign reporters taken to staged-managed polling stations reported that people had broadly boycotted the election charade. “In some polling stations, few people had turned out to vote. This reflected Iranians’ widespread disillusionment and mistrust,” they wrote.
The boycott came as Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, his president Hassan Rouhani, parliament speaker Ali Larijani, foreign minister Javad Zarif, IRGC and military commanders as well as Friday prayer leaders issued stark warnings. They repeatedly described participation in the election in such terms as; “religious duty”; “divine test”; “public jihad”; “prayers”; “more mandatory than prayer and fasting”; “ensuring the country’s prowess”; “the state’s credibility”; “guarantor of the state’s security”; “another strong slap to America” and “defeating maximum pressure policy”. They warned non-participation would mean “cooperating with the enemy and treachery,” “not being a Muslim” and “setting the stage for MEK’s sabotage operations.”
#MaryamRajavi congratulated #Iranian ppl for the nationwide #BoycottIranShamElections & added that the failure of the regime 2intimidate people to go to the polls reflects the #Iranian people’s homage to the 1,500 martyrs of the Nov2019 uprising &portends of subsequent uprisings.

More than 80 percent of those who made it to the parliament or who will go to the next round of the election are Khamenei loyalists. They are IRGC terrorists and criminals involved in suppression, the export of terrorism, and warmongering. IRGC Brig. Gen. Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, the leading candidate from Tehran is vying to head the Parliament. He was among the IRGC commanders in the unpatriotic Iran-Iraq war, commander of the IRGC’s air force, the State Security Force, and the mayor of Tehran. He has always been one the most senior officials responsible for torture, execution, terrorism, and belligerence as well as theft and plunder of the people’s wealth. Qalibaf has admitted his active involvement in the killing of the Mujahedin-e Khalq (MEK) from the outset, and of defiant youth in such protests as the 1999 uprising. As a war criminal and criminal against humanity, he must be face justice.
