Iran Uprising – No. 223
The Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Mill, which was a magnet job creation and industry in Khuzestan since six decades ago, is on the verge of destruction as a result of the regime’s officials plundering under the name of privatization. The deprived workers of this industrial complex bear a heavy and unbearable burden due to non-payment of their salaries and benefits, poverty and hunger, and inability to pay off their heavy debts. Several of them have already committed suicide in protest.
The Iranian resistance salutes the hardworking and brave workers of the Haft Tappeh Sugar Cane Mill, who have risen up in solidarity and unity to achieve their rights, and calls on fellow compatriots, especially the other workers and the working people, to express solidarity with and support these workers.
