Tehran: Clashes in Amir-Abad Ave., shots fired at demonstrators in various areas

Feb. 20 Uprising- No. 3

NCRI – In Amir- Abad Ave., clashes erupted following suppressive forces’ attack on students. People are defending themselves by hurling rocks while chants are also heard from Keshavarz Boulevard.

Slogans of “Down with Khamenei” and “Down with Dictator”, along with sounds of shots being fired were heard this morning from Navab Safavi and Vila Roads.
Protesting crowds are larger in Tehran’s northern and central districts.

Azadi Square is under the complete control of the regime’s security forces, with all areas filled with various vehicles belonging to suppressive forces. Vali-e Asr Square is closed with forces of the Revolutionary Guards Anti-Riot Units equipped with dozens of motorcycles. Chants of “Down with Dictator” and ambulance sirens can be heard from this square.

The Iranian regime has stationed most of its forces as plainclothes agents.
