NCRI – In a bid to suppress the brave youths and people of Tehran's Arya Shahr (Sadeqieh) district, suppressive forces have called for extensive deployment of forces. Regime gents from the Qods Bassij (northwestern Tehran) and the Ashura Corps of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) who were transferred to aid in suppression of the uprising from Eslam Shahr to Tehran were deployed to crack down on the people of Arya Shahr. The Greater Tehran State Security Forces (SSF) has deployed the Azadi Square battalion of the brigade to control riots to this area since 10:00 a.m. local time.

Hundreds of motorcycles of special units and the Bassij have been stationed around Azadi Square and Sadeqieh Square to create an atmosphere of tension and fear. Several thousand of the suppressive forces have been stationed in these regions.

At the northern side of the Sadeqieh Metro, people have set up bonfires to resist tear gas which covers the area. Around the Metro station, a motorcycle belonging to the special units was set on fire by youths. The suppressive forces even fired tear gas into the underground station and hallways of the metro to suppress the protestors after which many people faced respiratory problems.

In an area at Arya Shahr, suppressive forces suddenly attacked a group of people, youths and women and searched them. They arrested dozens, including several women. They took the detainees to a city bus and quickly left the scene with an escort of suppressive forces.
