Regime officials in Gilan University tried to prevent the students from attending the speech by filling the meeting room with Basij and intelligence agents hoping for a quiet meeting. But the students attended the speech carrying pictures of crackdown of demonstrators especially women on November 4.

In his speech titled “who is the true dictator?” Saffar Harandi brazenly claimed that the students and protestors were the real dictators.  Students in return called Harandi a liar and chanted “death to dictator,” “Students are awake and hate liars,” “Students would rather die than to be humiliated,” “Government of coup d'état, resign, resign” and “Hey wretched dictator, movement is going to go on.”  By throwing shoes and chanting “Murderer get lost,” students forced Harandi to leave the hall.

Saffar Harandi’s presence in Tehran University’s Technical School and Khaje Nassir Toosi university was protested by students chanting “Murderer get out” and shoes were hurled at him.
