Rajavi: Iranian people will be rising against Tehran regime on the eve of June 20 anniversaryMaryam Rajavi: The Iranian people will be rising against religious fascism on the eve of June 20th anniversary

NCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, paid tribute to the upcoming anniversary of June 20, the day of martyrs and political prisoners, the start of the nationwide resistance and uprising against the Iranian regime. While honoring the memory of the martyrs of the June 2009 uprising, she said that on the eve of this historic day, Iranians will be taking advantage of their right to free speech and assembly to stage protests against the ruling religious dictatorship.

Yesterday, Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi withdrew their call for a march on June 12 and announced that, in order to protect the people's lives and properties, no such rally will take place.

Mrs. Rajavi reiterated that while the lives and dignity of millions of Iranians are being assaulted and violated on a daily basis by the criminal mullahs and mass executions continue unabatedly, the call for silence and inaction has no meaning other than trying to preserve the disgraceful rule of the velayat-e faqih (absolute clerical rule) and protect the "lives and properties" of the ruling henchmen.

She stressed: As stated in the April 27, 2010 call by the leader of the Iranian Resistance, Massoud Rajavi, on the eve of June 20, 2010, the 30th anniversary of the start of resistance against the usurper velayat-e faqih regime, Iranian youths, students, workers, toilers and the  public at large will be setting alight the flames of protests, uprising and resistance against dictatorship across our occupied homeland.
