“Khamenei the tyrant, every day is May Day” workers chant outside Ministry of Labor

ArchivesInternational Workers’ Day – No. 10

NCRI – According to information from the Social Headquarters of the People's Mojahedin of Iran (PMOI) inside the country, at 15:30, workers were protesting outside the Ministry of Labor in Tehran's Azadi street chanting "Down with tyranny," "velayat (clergy rule), tyranny, must be destroyed" and “Khamenei the tyrant, every day is May Day.” Many Tehran residents and young people joined in solidarity with the event.

At the end of Ahmadinejad’s May Day speech at the Ministry of Interior, a group of workers’ representatives from crisis stricken companies began approaching him in protest. His bodyguards moved rapidly to protect him and prevent the workers from raising their complaints.

Fearing protests by workers and other social sectors, Tehran authorities banned all demonstrations and rallies and organized their own ceremonies in closed halls under heavy security arrangements.
