“Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate,” protesters chant in Tehran

NCRI – According to the Social Headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside the country, thousands of people and youths in Tehran are chanting “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate,” “Down with Khamenei” and “Down with dictator” as they are marching from Vali Asr Square to Daneshjou junction.

Groups of young people are chanting anti-regime slogans near Daneshjou junction. The suppressive forces have attacked demonstrators with batons. Protests are spreading across the capital.

In Enghelab Square people are chanting “Political prisoners must be released” and the suppressive forces are attaching people. Sounds of fire arms can be heard in Tehran. There are clashes between suppressive forces and people.

A large crowd has gathered in Enghelab Street. The shop keepers are forced to closed down their shops. In spite of this, the shop keepers are leaving the area and standing next to their shops.

The suppressive forces are preventing people from going to Tehran University and streets around it. Young people are stopped, their identity cards checked, their mobiles are also checked and in some cases confiscated.

Telephone booths are covered with black plastic and the public is not permitted to use them.  Traffic to and from the Tehran University is heavily controlled and plainclothes agents check student IDs in addition to University security personnel. The mullahs’ regime is trying to block public view to development of events inside the university by parking buses in front of the Tehran University.
