New Year’s Day 13 – No. 8
NCRI – Tehran residents staged protests in Chitgar Park today to mark Sizdeh-be-dar, the Day 13 of the Iranian New Year. They expressed their hatred toward the clerical regime by chanting “Down with Velayat (Supreme Leader of the clerical regime).”
The plainclothes agents of the regime who had infiltrated the crowd began making arrests which provoked widespread anger among families present in the park compelling the agents to cease and justify their suppressive actions. In the meantime the youths took advantage of the situation and started chanting “Down with Bassiji (the regime’s suppressive paramilitary force).”
