NCRI – In the city of Isfahan, protestors chant “Death to dictator,” and “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate,” in the district of Hossein Abad. Despite attacks by the suppressive paramilitary Bassij Force and the arrest of a number of protestors, clashes between people and suppressive forces still continued.

In Shiraz, tens of thousands of protestors poured into Zandieh Street and chanted, “This is the month of blood, Seyyed Ali [Khamenei] will be overthrown.” At the Namazi juncture, protestors carried red flags with “We will never surrender to humiliation” insignia on them as well as portraits of martyrs of the uprising. People clashed with plainclothes agents in separate groups and chanted “O, Hojjat Ibn al-Hassan, uproot the source of injustice.” Plainclothes agents arrested a number of youth at Qoba Mosque. Clashes continued on Zand Street and Shahcheragh, where people confronted Bassij agents.

In the city of Qazvin, at a gathering marking the occasion of Ashura at Shohada Street, youth chanted “Death to dictator.” The regime’s suppressive forces attacked the protestors and proceeded to beat them in order to disperse the crowd. The Commander of Qazvin’s State Security Forces (SSF) ordered firing of tear gas. People in Qazvin also retaliated against a number of the regime’s plainclothes agents.

In the city of Tabriz, the Abresan region was the scene of protests, where people chanted in their native Azeri, “Children of Sattar Khan, throw away the garbage.” Sattar Khan was the leader of the 1906 Constitutional Revolution in Tabriz.

In Shahr-e Kord, thousands of protestors chanted, “In the month of Muharram and blood, Khamenei must be overthrown.” SSF agents threw tear gas and fired shots into the air.

In the cities of Qom and Mashhad, the regime’s agents fired on protestors, but no information has been obtained about the extent of casualties.

Intense clashes also broke out between people and suppressive forces in Arak.

The mourning rituals of Ashura turned into anti-regime protests in Oroumieh and Ardebil as well.
