Portraits of Khomeini and Khamenei brought down and trampled over

February 11 Uprising – Statement no. 16

NCRI – The brave youths in Shahrak Gharb, west of Tehran, set fire to a motorcycle belonged to the suppressive forces. They also brought down portraits of Khomeini, founder of the clerical regime, and Ali Khamenei, mullahs’ Supreme Leader, and trampled over them.

Some 10,000 Tehran residents also marched toward the notorious Evin prison as they were chanting “Free political prisoners,” “down with dictator” and “death to the principle of Velayat-e faqih.” Scattered skirmishes took place near Yadegar-e Emam Highway between suppressive forces and people.

In Haft Tir Square, the suppressive forces fired pellet bullets at people who were marching toward Laleh Park and arrested four girls among the demonstrators.

At around 14:00 local time, clashes spilled over from Arya Shahr district to Pounak. Clashes are going on in Pounak Square between Ashrafi Esfahani and Arya Shahr. The State Security Forces are taking the detainees into vehicles with cages. They are firing many teargases and beating people to disperse them. The young people are chanting “Down with dictator” and “agent get lost” and there are skirmishes.

In Arya Shahr, between the first and second roundabout, there are 100 motorcyclists of the suppressive forces intimidating and harassing people.
