Uprising No to High Prices – No. 9
On Friday, December 29, 2017, on the second day of the “No to High Prices” uprising, demonstrations spread to vast parts of Iran. The people and brave youths in many cities, including Kermanshah, Qom, Ahvaz, Isfahan, Quchan, Sari, Qa’mshahr, Qazvin, Rasht, Zahedan, Hamadan, Khorram-Abad, Sabzevar and Bojnourd staged protest demonstrations.
In Qom, the brave young people chanted: “Death to Hezbollah”; “Khamenei, Shame on you, abandon the rule”, “Vigilant Iranian, join your people”, “We do not want the Islamic republic, we do not want it”, “The youth are unemployed, the mullahs are in their offices”. Despite the threats by the police chief who said “this gathering is illegal. Get dispersed or you will be death with for causing disorder”, the people ignored him and continued the demonstration.

The people of Ahvaz, with the slogans “Leave alone Syria, solve our problems”, “No Gaza, No Lebanon, My life for Iran”, “Death to the Dictator”, “People are poor, the government is like God”, joined the “No to High Prices” demonstration.
The repressive forces blocked the Ahvaz Bridge to prevent the spread of demonstration, preventing people from joining the demonstrators through the bridge. However, a number of people crossed the river by boat to join the rally.

In Isfahan, people gathered in the Enqelab and Khomeini squares and at the Si-o-Se pol bridge.
People chanted “Death to the dictator” in Enqelab Square. The riot guards arrested a number of people.
The deprived people of Zahedan, chanting “Abandon Syria, solve our problems”, and the people of Qazvin, chanting “Vigilant Iranian, Support, and Support” set up their demonstration. Hundreds of people in Sari protested in front of the governorate.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, saluted the demonstrators and said: today’s uprising has tolled the death knell for the overthrow of the entire corrupt dictatorship of the mullahs, and is the rise of democracy, justice and popular sovereignty.
She added: The mullahs’ regime has no future; investing on it is doomed to failure, and it is time for the international community to stop tying its’ fate to this regime and recognize the Iranian people’s Resistance to overthrow the regime.
