Nightly protests continue in Tehran with chants of “God is great” and “death to dictator”June 2010 Uprising – 20

NCRI – People of Tehran took to their rooftops on Sunday night to chant “God is great” and “death to dictator” to commemorate the memory of those killed by the regime during Iran’s nationwide uprising, especially the martyrs of June 20, 2009. The chants could be heard extensively starting 22:00 local time in Sadeqieh, Shahrak-e Gharb, and Saadat Abad districts, as well as Khoush, Navab, Azarbaijan, and Dampezeshki streets.

According to obtained reports, the religious fascism ruling Iran continues to impose severe suppression. Sporting plainclothes in order to avoid being identified, agents of the regime’s Intelligence Ministry, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and State Security Forces checked identification cards around 21:00 local time on Enqelab and Ferdowsi streets as well as people in restaurants and public locations. The agents inspect people’s belongings and there are also unprecedented controls on passersby.
