Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian ResistanceOutburst of millions of Iranians on Ashura and the blood of today’s martyrs signal inevitability and immediacy of mullahs’ downfall

NCRI – In a message today, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, described the outburst of millions of Iranians on the religious day of Ashura on streets across the country, which were characterized by the chants of “Down with Khamenei” and “Down with dictator,” as a clear sign of the inevitability and immediacy of the downfall of the despicable clerical regime. She added that although the religious fascism ruling Iran shed the blood of our nation's youths on Ashura, nonetheless, just like the Ashura of 1978 (when the Shah attempted to crack down on similar protests), all indications  point to the countdown towards the regime’s downfall. The great day of liberation for the Iranian people is drawing closer.

Mrs. Rajavi paid homage to those killed by the suppressive forces today and said that the days of the clerical regime are numbered and there is no force that can save the mullahs any more.

The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance expressed her condolences to families of those fallen on Ashura for the cause of Iran's freedom and called on all Iranians to honor the martyrs and demonstrate their solidarity and support for the families of the martyrs and political prisoners.

Mrs. Rajavi reminded the international community, particularly the United States and the European Union, that the clerical regime is on its way out and that the future belongs to the Iranian people and the Iranian Resistance. Negotiations, deals, and appeasement of the medieval regime are futile and will only encourage the ruling mullahs in their suppression and killing of the Iranian people.
