Maryam RajaviNCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance lauded today’s courageous uprising in Tehran, Shiraz, Esfahan, Rasht, Mashhad and other cities and said that this was the powerful outburst of discontent by the Iranian people who say in unison that the clerical regime must go.

She said that the clerical rule has been shaken by upsurge of anger and discontent of masses of people who cried out “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is illegitimate,” only a few hundreds of meters away from Khamenei’s residence.

Mrs. Rajavi added that in addition to university students, courageous women and girls, the school students and teenagers also joined the nationwide uprising in various parts of the country. In morning ceremonies of some schools in Tehran, students chanted “Death to dictator” and then poured into the streets.

She noted that students and all courageous women and men who joined today’s uprising, once again thwarted the regime’s security and suppressive mobilization and massive psychological and propaganda warfare.  She concluded that today’s event was a proof to Khamenei’s ongoing chain of failures in face of uprisings. This was in pursuant to his failure to confront July 17 and September 18 uprisings; storm of protests by students and annihilation of Ashraf.

While praising people who joined the uprising, Mrs. Rajavi called on international community to exert pressure on the clerical dictatorship to release all those arrested in the course of uprising.
