Students were chanting “Down with Khamenei,” and “Down with dictator,” as they were attacked today by suppressive agents who have been stationed in the vicinity of university since previous night. The agents attacked students with pepper gas and various cold weapons. A large number of students were severely wounded. The university continues to be surrounded by the suppressive forces.

The Iranian regime’s large-scale and brutal attack on defenseless students is in response to their courageous nationwide uprising on Monday, Students Day, in which Tehran University students actively participated.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations and student unions to condemn the brutal suppression of students in Iran. Also calls on the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights to take immediate measures to free all the detained students in Iran.
