Nationwide uprising – Students Day – No. 12

At least 220 reportedly arrested

The suppressive forces of the clerical regime tried to contain waves of courageous uprisings on Students Day by widespread arrest of protesters.

Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) arrested 146 students from Tehran’s Amir Kabir University including Majid Tavakoli. In Ahvaz University, 15 students were arrested.

NCRI – The suppressive forces of the clerical regime tried to contain waves of courageous uprisings on Students Day by widespread arrest of protesters.

Agents of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) arrested 146 students from Tehran’s Amir Kabir University including Majid Tavakoli. In Ahvaz University, 15 students were arrested.

The plainclothes agents arrested at least 50 young girls and boys as well as middle-aged women in Enghelab Square. More than 10 girls and boys were arrested in Vali Asr Square and taken to an unknown location.

The suppressive forces had positioned their special units with trained dogs at the entrance of hospitals in Tehran and arrested the wounded brought there. No information about the fate of those arrested is available.

At the same time in the city of Karaj, Mrs. Zahra Asadpour Gorji (Joshan) was arrested when a number of Gohardasht prison henchmen, including two named Mohammadi and Hasani, stormed her home. Her son, Reza, was also arrested by the same agents last week and taken to Gohardasht prison.  Mrs. Asadpour, 52, and here daughter, Fatemeh, had been previously jailed for two years for the sole purpose of visiting her child in Camp Ashraf, Iraq.
