Iran: Two thousand Sugar Cane Factory workers demonstrate

National Council of Resistance of IranNCRI-Two thousand striking workers of the Sugar Cane Factory demonstrated for the forth consecutive day outside the governor's office in the southwestern city of Shoosh on Tuesday.

Workers paid no heed to the city's governor that he would take their demands directly to Tehran. The strikers chanted, "We don't want any hollow promises."

In a move to disperse the protesters, the State Security Forces (SSF) — mullahs' suppressive police — cordoned the participants outside the governor's office.

Members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Special Units and agents of the local office of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) were called in to contain the situation.

The striking workers shouted, "We are Sugar Cane Factory workers, we are hungry," "Good living conditions are our inalienable right."

More Than 5,000 sugar cane factory workers began their 8th day of walked out over their unpaid wages and imposed restrictions by the security forces on the activists.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all labor organizations, unions and in particular the International Labor Organization (ILO) to condemn the clerical regime's anti-labor policies and suppression of workers and demands support for workers just demand.
