Iran: Sit-in and hunger strike at Teachers’ Training School

National Council of Resistance of IranNCRI – Hundreds of students at Teacher's Training School in Pardis district of Karaj, west of Tehran, staged a sit-in in protest against pressures by the school administration and well fair shortcomings. More than 50 of them have started an unlimited hunger strike since June 1.  The school authorities and the security forces stationed at the complex have cut off drinking water supply to the complex to force them end their protest. The security forces have also prevented ambulances to go into the school to take care of students whose health has deteriorated as a result of their hunger strike.

More than 800 male and female students confronted the security forces by chanting, "Security forces out" and "Mercenaries out."

On Monday evening, a number of individuals wearing university police uniforms arrived at the school complex that are presumed to be security forces from other universities. Plain-clothes agents are also patrolling outside the school.

The Iranian Resistance lauds the students for their resolve and calls on human rights organizations as well as student unions to condemn the regime's suppressive measures against the students.
