IRAN: Protests and clashes take place in various areas of Tehran

Bassij agents and hooligans attack protestors with knives

February 11 Uprising – Statement no. 8

At 10:30 local time, protestors confronted anti-riot forces at Sattar Khan Street in Tehran. Intense clashes continue between youths and suppressive forces. A number of protestors have been detained by the regime’s agents.

The paramilitary Bassij Force, knife-wielders, and hooligans and thugs use blades and knives to attack people who chant anti-regime slogans. At least two people have been injured.

At Mossaddeq Square, youths have clashed with Bassij agents and the State Security Forces (SSF). One of the motorcycles of the suppressive forces was set on fire at Mossaddeq Square. Bassij agents shatter windshields of vehicles passing by.

At Shahr Ara, brave youths and people clashed with a group of Hezbollahi hooligans who sought to disrupt their protest.

At Sadeqieh Square, a regime helicopter hovers over as suppressive forces fire tear gas to control the crowds.

Fars news agency, which is affiliated with the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), announced last night that “whoever that clashes with the police and security forces at tomorrow’s ceremony under whatever pretext will be detained until April 9.”
