IRAN: People protest in Tehran’s Aryashahr Square with chants of “political prisoners must be freed”

February 11 Uprising – Statement no. 7

NCRI – Large numbers of courageous people and youths have gathered at Tehran’s Aryashahr Square to protest against the ruling religious fascism with the chants of “political prisoners must be freed,” “death to dictator,” “God is great,” and “honorable Iranian, support us, support us.” They are resisting the onslaught of suppressive forces. The regime’s agents severely beat, injured, and arrested two young women.

Plainclothes informants have infiltrated the crowds seeking to identify protestors and arrest them. However, despite the suppression and dense formations of suppressive forces, people are marching towards Azadi Square.
