Iran: People of Zahedan Protest despite Widespread Oppressive Measures

NCRI

NCRI logoToday, October 13, despite the oppressive measures taken, the courageous people of Zahedan once again took to the streets after Friday prayer to protest against the regime’s atrocities in Baluchistan. They chanted slogans such as “Death to Khamenei,” “My martyred brother, I will avenge your blood,” and “We swear by the blood of our companions, we stand until the end.”

Protesters carried placards with inscriptions that read, “Zahedan: Bastion of Resistance Against the Shah’s Dictatorship and Theocracy,” “The Baluch people will never submit to monarchy and theocracy’s oppression,” and “The people of Baluchistan’s slogan: Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the Leader (Khamenei).”

Since the morning, the regime disrupted the internet in Zahedan, deployed repressive forces in the streets, set up tents, and blocked the roads leading to the Zahedan Mosque in an attempt to prevent people from assembling and protesting. The IRGC mercenaries also intended to thwart the people’s protests, but the Baluch compatriots bravely confronted them with resounding cries of “Disgrace, disgrace”.
