In Tehran’s Naziabad district, young people forced the suppressive forces to flee the area. In Khorramabad, western Iran, the youth attacked the vehicle of the regime’s agents while chanting “Death to the dictator” and beat up the Basij paramilitary agents. In Shahinshahr, people set fire to Basji agents’ motorbikes and in the Ferdowsi shopping mall, a number of people were injured when suppressive forces attacked them. In Tabriz, the regime had mobilized all its forces to suppress protests, but young people staged a nightly demonstration and clashed with the forces in Khatib Square.

Quoting Hasan Hasanzadeh, the Commander of the Greater Tehran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, which is under the supervision of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, the state-run website Asr-e Iran on Saturday, October 15, acknowledged the helplessness of the suppressive forces in facing the protesters and said: “In every clash, even when it leads to victory, the victorious side in the field also suffers losses, and so far 850 [of our forces] have been wounded and three martyred in the current unrest. In just one night, 185 [of our forces] were wounded and we had to fight with rioters for 45 minutes in Al-Ghadir Square.”
