Large crowds honor heroine physician Aida Rostami in Gorgan
Nightly demonstrations in Tehran and other cities
On Tuesday, December 20, the 96th night of the nationwide uprising, a large crowd attended the seventh-day ceremony of Aida Rostami, a heroine physician who was killed for treating the wounded during the uprising. The angry crowd gathered in Imamzadeh Abdullah in Gorgan turned the ceremony into yet another scene of an anti-regime protest by chanting “Death to the dictator,” “They took our Aida, returned her corpse,” “Death to the Supreme Leader after many long years of crimes,” “You are lewd, I am a liberated woman,” and “This perished flower, dedicated to the homeland.” The suppressive forces tried to disperse the crowd with threats, intimidations, and beating but failed, therefore attacked the protesters using tear gas and teasers.
Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said that the people of Gorgan called for the overthrow of the regime at the memorial ceremony of the brave Dr. Aida Rostami, who was martyred under the brutal tortures. She called on all physicians and medical organizations around the world to condemn the regime for its heinous crimes.
On Tuesday evening in Tehran, protesters chanted “Death to Khamenei” on Enghelab Street. In Ekbatan and Sadeghieh townships, demonstrators were chanting “Death to the dictator,” “Death to Khamenei,” “Death to Basiji,” “Khamenei is a murderer, his rule is null and void” and “Poverty, corruption, high prices, onward to overthrow.” Brave young people hung nooses from Tehran’s Hemet highway bridge as a sign of protest against executions.
In Golshahr of Karaj, brave youths staged nightly demonstrations, lit fires, and chanted “Death to Khamenei” and “Death to the dictator”. In Gohardasht of Karaj, Mashhad, and Isfahan, the young protesters chanted “Death to the dictator” and “This year, is a year of sacrifice, Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) will be overthrown” in their nightly demonstrations. The defiant youths in Nahavand set fire to and destroyed the regime’s telecommunication towers in Laleh Park.
