On the brink of Fire Festival, mullahs announce discovery of astronomical numbers of fire crackers to exhibit control over the situation and intimidate people

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s authorities of various ranks have in recent days come to the scene one after another to announce news about “discovery operations and confiscation of combustible material” as well as the arrest of sellers and distributors of these materials.

Such news reports, some of which are bogus and others bloated with astronomical bluffs, are disseminated under the orders of the regime’s Supreme National Security Council. On the one hand, the regime seeks to portray an image of being in control over the situation, and on the other hand, it intends to intensify the atmosphere of intimidation and fear in order to curb the planned uprising during the Fire Festival, which has become a symbolic day for the Iranian people to voice their rage and hatred towards the clerical regime.

According to these news reports, published daily and primarily by Mehr and Fars news agencies, which are affiliated with the Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ahmad-Reza Radan, the Deputy Commander of the regime’s State Security Forces (SSF), Colonel Mohsen Khancharli, Deputy of SSF Command of Operations, Mohammad-Ali Nosrati, SSF Commander in Tabriz, Ebrahim Qaed Rahmati, SSF Commander in Kurdistan, and many other commanders of the regime’s suppressive forces, have announced in the past three weeks that more than 72 million pieces of fire crackers and 45 tons of combustible material have been discovered. Taking into account the population of Iran, this implies that a package of explosives has been confiscated from every Iranian.

The Iranian regime’s hysteria over the Fire Festival (March 16) results from the people’s relentless determination to mount a massive uprising. The desperate mullahs try in vain to repeatedly publish “news of discovery of combustible material,” hiding their fear of the nationwide protests and portraying a sense of control over the situation.

Despite all the suppressive measures and the regime’s deceptive psychological warfare, brave Iranian youths in various cities of the country have started to embrace this national celebration two weeks in advance, with sounds of fire crackers heard on a daily basis in various streets across the country.
