Iran: More than 3,000 brick factory workers go on strike

National Council of Resistance of IranWorkers in dozens of other factories and workshops walked out over the past month
NCRI – More than 3,000 workers at Qarchak Brick Factory in Varamin, central Iran, have been on strike for the past 26 days.

Thousands of women, men and children working in the factory demand rise in their wage from about $12.5 to $15 for every 1,000 brick they produce.

The deprived workers in this factory work for over 17 hours a day. They have appealed to the regime's officials to look into their working state.

Some of the foremen in the factory have responded to the workers' strike by closing down toilets and resorted to other immoral pressures in a bid to force the workers to end their strike.

Workers in Haft-Tapeh Sugar Cane Factory, Shazand Sugar Factory, Kermanshah Petrochemical industry, Kaveh Fireproof Safe factory, Taleqani wood factory in Ahmad-Abad, Bardsir sugar factory in Kerman, and dozens of other factories and workshops have been on strike over the past month demanding their overdue salaries.

The Iranian Resistance calls on labor organizations and unions and the International Labor Organization (ILO) in particular to condemn the anti-labor policies of the clerical regime and suppression of the workers in Iran.
