Iran: IRCG warns of a “crushing confrontation” with those who “stir disorder”

NCRI – In fear of the widespread public participation in Friday’s demonstration, the Iranian regime’s Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) issued a statement today. In a bid to prevent the Iranian people from participating in a nationwide protest, IRGC resorted to intimidation and threatened people with "crushing confrontation." The statement issued is based on approaches specified by Ali Khamenei, mullahs’ Supreme Leader, who is personally pursuing and guiding measures to suppress the anticipated demonstrations.

The IRGC’s statement described the protestors as "the enemies of the regime and the revolution and those who were defeated in the recent election" that intend “to create a diversion and division between the ranks of unified people" and warned them “any diversion or counterrevolutionary and anti-popular moves” and “intentions for disruption or disorder” will be faced with “readiness” for “crushing confrontation" by the regime’s “Police, security forces and especially Revolutionary Guards and Bassij force [paramilitary forces].”

For weeks, Tehran residents have called for widespread nationwide demonstrations to protest against the clerical regime and Ahmadinejad’s cabinet which is comprised of IRGC members.
