Iran: In Tehran, some mourn while some await release of loved ones

A man killed in anti-goverment demonstrationNCRI – A 17 year old boy, a victim of the Iranian regime’s crackdown during the nationwide uprising, was buried yesterday in Tehran. Ashkan Sohrabi was slain by suppressive forces in Khosh Street.

In addition to his loved ones, other people in Tehran took part in his funeral, proudly hailing his memory and chanting religious slogans alluding to his innocent death. A ceremony will also be held on Thursday at 15:30 local time in Tehran’s Ghasroldasht mosque.

Separately, families of those who have disappeared during the recent uprising gathered in front of the notorious Evin prison today to demand the release of their loved ones. On June 20, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran said in a statement that, “The regime’s henchmen have in recent days coerced medical staff at hospitals and forcefully abducted the wounded from their hospital beds and transferred them to prisons and safe-houses.” There also reports about the regime torturing those detained.
