NCRI – The city of Esfahan has witnessed extensive protests by its people since the morning of Thursday, February 11. Chants of “death to dictator,” “death to Khamenei,” and “Khamenei must know, he belongs in the garbage bin,” can be heard in various parts of the city. Suppressive forces have opened fire on people at Darvazeh Dolat and Sepah Street. At least 12 people have been arrested.

At Enghelab Square and Chaharbagh Street, a large crowd has gathered and chants the slogans “death to dictator,” and “down with the principle of velayat-e faqih (absolute clerical rule).” State Security Forces (SSF) have attacked people while protestors have resisted the onslaught. Suppressive forces have also fired tear gas into the crowds.

The uprising is still continuing in Shiraz and brave youths have expressed their anger towards the absolute clerical rule by setting the posters of the mullahs’ Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and its President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on fire.
