Iran: Families of detainees protest outside Evin prison and the Revolutionary Court

Nationwide uprising in Iran – Statement 99

NCRI – On the 30th day of the nationwide uprising on Sunday, more than 150 members of families of those detained during the uprising gathered outside Tehran’s notorious Evin prison to protest against the ongoing detention of their children and relatives. Some 100 other family members of the detainees also protested outside the clerical regime’s Revolutionary Court in Moalem Street, Tehran.

Their protests started at 8:30am and went on till the afternoon despite hot summer weather. They demanded the unconditional release of their children and relatives. The clerical authorities refrained from responding to the demands of the crowd that included elderly parents and children of the detainees.

During the past month, a number of detainees were killed under medieval tortures in prisons.
