Iran: Anti-government demonstrations erupt in cities across Iran

 Nationwide uprising – Ashura 18

NCRI – In Iran the religious Shiite ritual of Ashura has turned into massive anti-government demonstration throughout the country.
 
In Shiraz thousands staged a demonstration stretching between Saadi and Paramount Cinemas chanting anti-Khamenei slogans. Intense clashes have been reported between security forces and people and the oppressive forces are trying to control the crowd using tear gas and by firing in the air.

In Shiraz thousands staged a demonstration stretching between Saadi and Paramount Cinemas chanting anti-Khamenei slogans. Intense clashes have been reported between security forces and people and the oppressive forces are trying to control the crowd using tear gas and by firing in the air.

In Esfahan, hundreds of plainclothes agents in Enqelab Square clashed with demonstrators.  Oppressive forces arrested a number of people including four girls.

In Ahwaz thousands of people staged anti-regime demonstrations in Naderi St, Abadan intersection, Dariush St, Taleghani St, Azam mosque, and Hafez St.

The demonstrators were chanting: “Khamenei is a murderer – his rule is illegitimate”, “Down with the principle of Velayat-e Faqih”, “Khamenei down with you, eternal shame on you”, the suppressive forces confronted the people firing tear gas and pepper gas and using batons, and at least 20 demonstrators were arrested.

In Shahrekord (central Iran) thousands of people chanting "This is month of blood – Khamenei will be overthrown" marched from Enqelab Square to prayers quarter in the city.

In Neyshabour, Touyserkan, Mahshahr, Yasuj, Gachsaran, and Omidieh the Ashura mourning ceremonies has turned into anti-regime demonstrations.
