Iran: Anti-government demonstrations across Tehran

 Nationwide uprising – Statement 160

NCRI – A large crowd is marching toward Tehran University from across the capital, according the Social Headquarters’ of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran inside the country. People are marching from Azadi and Rezaii-ha squares through streets of Vali Asr and Ostad Nejatollahi.

Demonstrators are chanting “Hey people why are you not getting up, Iran has turned into another Palestine,” “Dignified Iranians, support support,” “Neither Ghaza nor Lebanon, I sacrifice my life for Iran” and “Death to dictator” as they are moving toward Enghelab Square.

The suppressive forces, particularly the plainclothes agents on their motor cycles are trying to disperse people by creating atmosphere of fear. They are trying to disperse people and push them to the sidewalks. In Vali Asr square, they are using tear gas. They have blocked the route from Keshavarz Boulevard to Vali Asr square preventing people from joining the demonstrations.
