NCRI – In Rasht, in spite of heavy rain, people started their demonstration at 4:30 pm in Motahari and Haji-Abad Avenues and at Mecayil junction. At 5:30 pm, the youths’ chants of “Death to dictator” and “Allah Akbar (God is great)” could be heard in many parts of the city. The raid of State Security Forces on the demonstrators raised hatred among protesters and resulted in clashes with state forces. At least 100 demonstrators were arrested.
State Security Forces shattered windows of vehicles with batons, which honked their horns in support of the protesters.
In Mashhad, at 7:30 pm, people staged a demonstration at Rahnamayi three-way. At least 4 demonstrators were arrested. The demonstration in Ahmad-Abad Ave. was attacked by State Security Forces.
