“Death to Dictator” and “Viva Republic” chants in Tehran’s Imam Hossein Square

NCRI – A large number of youths in Tehran’s Imam Hossein Square chanted “Death to Dictator” and “Viva Republic”.

In Enqelab (Revolution) Square, a number of large book stores are closed down, and people and the store owners have been forced to stay inside.

 

Fierce clashes have erupted between demonstrators and the State Security Force in various areas of Tehran, including Taleqani Ave., the intersection of Azadi and Azerbaijan, Vali-Asr Intersection, the College Intersection, Mirdamad Ave and Jordan Road. State Security agents are attacking the demonstrators with batons.

In Vali-Asr, suppressive forces are using tear gas and tying people with chains. Demonstrators in this area are chanting “Death to Dictator” and “Police aside from government, come and join the people”.
 
From the Sepah Road and Hassan Abad District, demonstrators are heading towards Enqelab (Revolution) Road and causing heavy traffic.

Tehran’s southern districts including Nazi Abad, Javadieh, Razi, Qazvin Road, Shoush Square Road have witnessed clashes between protesters and the agents of suppressive forces.
