  • Alireza Zali, head of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT) in Tehran: Tehran, is going through its worst days.
  • Member of the regime parliament’s Health Commission: A month after the reopening of schools, a growing wave of Coronavirus has hit the country.
  • Minoo Mohraz, member of the NCCT: We do not have an empty ICU bed. Some hospitals do not have enough oxygen. We must set up a field hospital that has not been set up yet.
  • Shariati Hospital: We had three ICU and four hospital wards free for Coronavirus patients, and now all are full. More than 150 patients are hospitalized in the emergency ward and ICU, while over 50% of the medical staff have contracted Coronavirus.
  • Loghman Hospital: One-third of the medical staff either lost their lives or have contracted the virus. Nurses and doctors are tired and confused. The treatment system is chaotic. Several people are waiting to be hospitalized in the emergency room. Sometimes we must lay patients on the floor.

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on October 7, 2020, that the number of Coronavirus death toll in 450 cities exceeded 117,900. The number of victims in Tehran is 28,091, Khorasan Razavi 8,880, Isfahan 6,014, East Azerbaijan 4,123, West Azerbaijan 3,132, Hamedan 3,123, Kurdistan 2,141, Yazd 1,586, Hormozgan 1,575, Ardabil 1,381, Zanjan 1,118, Qazvin 1,099, and Ilam 980. The spokesperson for the Health Ministry put the death toll in the past 24 hours at 239, the highest figure in the past eight months since the beginning of the Coronavirus pandemic.

While the clerical regime has not done anything to help the people and the country’s health system in combating Coronavirus, once again, Rouhani brazenly blamed the people for the outbreak today, and said, “We must all abide by the protocol. No one should violate … Wherever there is cultural and social growth, people will overcome the Coronavirus. Wherever God forbid, cultural and social growth is low, if they ignore the rules and regulations, and the NCCT regulations, there will be problems.”

At the same time, Fatemeh Mohammad Baygi, a member of the regime parliament’s health commission, said: “Despite the unpreparedness of the country’s education system, Rouhani ordered the reopening of schools early, and after about a month, a growing wave of the Coronavirus has engulfed the country. School principals have reminded lawmakers that the Ministry of Education has not allocated a specific budget to provide disinfectants and masks for distribution to students. Students have virtually no protection against Coronavirus. For this reason, school officials must ask families and parents of students for help in preparing disinfectants, or for them to buy these items.”
