Sanctions, firm policy only way to deal with mullahs’ regime

Sanctions, firm policy only way to deal with mullahs' regimeMore “incentives” emboldens the ruling religious fascism in blackmailing the world community and obtaining nuclear bomb

According to international news agencies, the five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany have decided to offer incentives in the field of non-military nuclear fuel, commerce, technology and security to the mullahs’ regime so that it would comply with Security Council demands. This is despite the fact that religious dictatorship ruling Iran has been continuing its nuclear projects with full force in defiance of the Security Council deadline and has continued uranium enrichment for more than a month.

The decision to give more incentives to the mullahs’ regime came at time when according to its leaders, the negotiations in the past three years give Tehran ample opportunity not only to complete many of the unfinished projects but also to get dangerously closer to an atom bomb.

In past few weeks, Ahmadinejad and many other officials in the nuclear program boasted of not only succeeding in completing the fuel cycle but enriching uranium to 4.8 precent. Ahmadinejad claimed, “Now that Iran has joined the international nuclear club all equations would be in Iran’s favor”.

In its latest report to the Security Council, the International Atomic Agency had reaffirmed that the Iranian regime had not been cooperative.

Mr. Mohammad Mohaddessin, NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chair, warned against continuing appeasement toward the religious fascism ruling Iran this time justified under pretext of “incentives”. He said that any delay in adopting a firm policy and imposing binding punishments, including comprehensive sanctions, against this medieval tyranny would give it what it needs the most in obtaining nuclear weapons: time. This would confront the Middle East region and the world with the catastrophe of the “central banker” and “the most active state sponsor of terrorism” arming itself with the world’s most dangerous weapon and the prospect of a destructive war.
