NCRI – The clerical regime in Iran is intensifying suppression of Iranian women and youth by patrolling in public places especially streets of Tehran under the pretext of “promotion of virtue and prevention of vice”.
The head of “Ansar-e-Hezbollah” para-military force announced “widespread patrolling especially in Tehran to promote virtue and prevent vice.”
The mission of these thugs is harassing people, especially women and young people under the pretext of “mal veiling”.
The suppressive measures would be implemented across the country but would be in a higher scale and broader in Tehran.
These groups already have began their activities in cities across Tehran, state-run ISNA reported.
“They have began carrying out their mission in groups of ten of men and women in various parts of the city without their activities being covered by the press,” the report said.
Announcing the formation of patrols, the commander of “Ansar-e-Hebollah”, Abdolhamid Mohtasham, acknowledged the widespread public hatred toward the regime and the Revolutionary Guards Corp (IRGC).
He said “the weight of those people who are corrupts and their supporters has shifted against the religious people”.
He pledged that “despite nightly and daily attacks by enemies and hypocrites … we suppress those corrupted and their supporters and would remove them from the scene.” He warned: “If we don’t tackle them, they will stand against Hezbollah.”
“Ansar-e-Hebollah” is composed of hooligans and thugs who are IRGC members affiliated to IRGC’s Intelligence.
Known as plainclothes agents, they played an important role in suppressing the 2009 uprising of the people. Abdolhamid Mohtasham, a senior IRGC commanders, is now continuing suppressing people as a plainclothes agent.
