Paris Court rejects entry of Iranian Intelligence agents as private plaintiffs in June 17 dossier

Paris Court rejects entry of Iranian Intelligence agents as private plaintiffs in June 17 dossierNCRI – Today, the Paris Court of Appeals issued a verdict rejecting the request by agents of the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) to enter into the legal proceedings in the case of a number of members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance relating to the brutal June 17, 2003 raid on the offices of the Iranian Resistance, north of Paris. For the past three and a half years, the mullahs’ regime, under the pretext of private plaintiffs, has been trying to enter into the proceedings in order to gain access to the information in the case such as the names and particulars  of members and supporters of the Iranian Resistance.

In this regard, the MOIS through its operatives pretending to be victims of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) and by hiring a number of French lawyers had tried to claim that the PMOI’s operations inside Iran had targeted civilians and had been directed from France.

The Paris Court of Appeals by rejecting the motion submitted by the MOIS agents to interfere in the legal proceedings proved that their claims lacked any credibility.

On the other hand, the regime was trying to have the MOIS agents be brought into the legal proceedings of the June 17 dossier, so that the case would be kept ongoing. Due to lack of credible evidence the file has become a major debacle for its creators and the mullahs’ regime.

MOIS agents claiming to be former PMOI members gave false testimonies against the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance. These efforts suffered a resounding defeat.

The regime spent millions of dollars for forging documents, running a demonizing campaign against the PMOI and the Iranian Resistance and hiring attorneys in order to have its agents enter the legal proceedings.

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) had previously exposed a document of a payment order of one million dollars for “legal fees” signed by former Secretary of the regime’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Brig. Gen. Ali Rabbi’i. The document, which was numbered 4236/82 and dated September 17, 2003, states, “According to the decision made in the SNSC regarding the ongoing legal proceedings in the French courts… one million dollars is allocated from the Presidential Funds to cover the costs.” This should be “brought to the attention of the Islamic Republic’s Central Bank.”

A delegation from the regime’s intelligence ministry was dispatched to France from Iran in September 2003 to lay the groundwork for the MOIS plan.

At the time, the Human Rights League, the Judges’ Syndicate and a number of other French human rights organizations as well as political personalities condemned the efforts of the Iranian regime and warned that the regime was taking advantage of the French judicial system.
