No incentive would persuade mullahs’ regime to abandon nuclear weapons program

Mohammad Mohaddesin NCRI – Senior political directors of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and Germany are meeting in London to discuss the offering of a series of incentives to the Iranian regime to encourage it to abide by the United Nations Security Council demands.

Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, said in this regard, “While the mullahs’ regime is getting closer to acquire the nuclear weapon on daily basis, it is most unfortunate that the five permanent members of the Security Council and Germany are discussing an incentive package to offer to the mullahs’ dictatorship ruling Iran.  No amount of incentives and concessions would encourage the Tehran regime enough to abandon its nuclear weapons program.”

“This is a part of a disastrous policy that has been continuing for the past two decades, providing the mullahs’ regime with the means to obtain the nuclear fuel cycle” Mohaddessin added.

He emphasized, “The Iranian Resistance calls for immediate freeze of all incentive packages to Iran.  The perception that a firm policy and the imposition of sanctions would provoke the mullahs’ regime is a misguided political assessment and is promoted by the Iranian regime, its lobby and those in the West with vested interests in Iran.”

“Only a firm policy and the imposition of comprehensive sanctions would slowdown the process of acquiring nuclear weapons by the mullahs,” NCRI’s Foreign Committee Chair added.
