Mullahs’ regime vainly attempts to prevent further escalation of the crisis

by sacking FATA commander

• Call to establish an international committee to investigate the perpetrators of this crime and the role of the regime’s leaders

Following the upsurge of international antipathy and abhorrence and the Iranian people’s rage over the death of Sattar Beheshti, on December 1st, Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghadam, commander of State Security Force, sacked Colonel Mohammad Hassan Shokrian, Chief of the greater Tehran’s cyber police (known as FATA).

Khamenei, through a seeming elimination of an underling henchman, is vainly attempting to save himself, the Judiciary chief and other regime officials who were directly responsible for this crime and other similar cases.
The mullahs’ regime announced in a ridiculous gesture: This pasdar “after light shed on the different aspects of the case … and due to negligence and lack of control over the actions of his subordinates and the due process of the deceased” has been relieved of duty. This is while pasdar Ahmadi Moghadam and other SSF commanders have all taken part in the murder of thousands of prisoners and innocent people, which is tantamount to crimes against humanity. The criterion for promotion in this regime and reaching posts such as minister, member of parliament and security officials is participation in the torture, killing and execution of political prisoners.
The Iranian regime, in order to quell protests over the death of Sattar Beheshti, established a so-called follow-up committee in the regime’s National Security and Foreign Affairs Commission led by Alaedin Borujerdi, who is close to Khamenei.
– On 12 November, this committee announced that Sattar Beheshti had died of a “natural cause”.
– On 13 November, Mohammad Dehghan, member of the Majlis board from Khamenei’s faction, said “If we had seriously followed up on the Kahrizak issue, especially if awards weren’t given out by some statesmen, this bitter incident wouldn’t have happened today”, Mehr News Agency reported. He was referring to Ahmadinejad who promoted henchman Mortazavi, the main element behind the crimes committed at the Kahrizak death camp, as the executive director of Social Security Fund.
– On 14 November, Taghavifar, executive director of the Khorshid Daily (affiliated to Rahim Mashai) wrote: “Today, the reason behind Mr. Ahmadinejad’s decision to visit the prisons is clear… I am certain that if the president had gone to Evin (prison) than, we would not have witnessed the painful death of an Iranian citizen today”.
– On 15 November, Mullah Larijani, head of the judiciary, said in reaction to this article: “Those affiliated to the government have not observed the country and establishment’s national security and have poured water in the enemy’s mill. The government is flagrantly misusing the death of Sattar Beheshti.” (Fars News Agency)
– On 18 November, Taghavifar was summoned to court based on a complaint in this regard issued by the Tehran’s public prosecutor.
– On 26 November, Davatgari, member of Majlis from Khamenei’s faction, announced: “The violation of the FATA police in the case of Sattar Beheshti is obvious”. While describing Evin Prison as “consistent with legal standards”, he said SSF stations can only hold the accused for a short time monitoring them with the presence of officers… FATA agents held the accused overnight without a judicial order… on the third and fourth day, despite the judicial order, FATA police, retook the accused from Evin Prison and placed him under the supervision of FATA police.”
– On 30 November, Esmaeel Kosarri, member of the Majlis National Security Commission, flagrantly said: “The fact that an individual stays at Evin Prison for a while and dies at a detention center afterwards doesn’t mean the detention center is illegal… Evin is a legal prison and all the detention centers are legal and under monitoring.” (State-run ILNA News Agency)
The Iranian Resistance calls for the establishment of an international committee to investigate the barbaric tortures within the mullahs’ regime, including the death of Sattar Beheshti, and to indicate the perpetrators and directors of these crimes and bring them to justice.
