Mullahs execute Fattahian to intimidate Iranian society

Ehsan FattahianNCRI – Iranian regime hanged Mr. Ehsan (Esma’il) Fattahian, 27, a political prisoner from impoverished Kurdistan region of Iran, in Sanandaj central prison on Wednesday.

The brutal sentence was carried out despite international efforts made by many human rights bodies and organizations to halt his execution. His lawyer said that he is not informed about “the content of his case and the crime he has committed.”

The ruling mullahs insisted on his execution in order to intensify fear and repression in society, particularly among the youth community which in recent months during the nationwide uprising has clearly demonstrated its will to overthrow the clerical regime and establish democracy and the rule of people in Iran.

The Iranian Resistance reiterates that silence and inaction by international community regarding systematic violations of human rights in Iran emboldens the regime to continue with murders and crimes against Iranian people. It also calls for the referral of regime’s human rights dossier to the UN Security Council for adoption of binding measures. End to executions, torture and human rights violations must be set as a precondition for expansion or continuation of trade with the clerical regime.
