Mrs Rajavi calls on the UN Security Council to condemn massacre of defenseless prisoners in Qezelhessar Prison and dispatch an investigative delegation

NCRI – Mrs Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance described the massacre of defenseless prisoners in Qezelhessar prison on Tuesday night, 15 March, by clerical regime’s henchmen an unprecedented and horrific crime and a dark page in the dossier of the religious fascism ruling Iran that is filled with atrocities. While wishing rapid recovery for the wounded and expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, she urged all Iranian people to rise for offering their help and support to them.

Mrs Rajavi called on the international community, especially the United Nations, to strongly condemn this crime. She called on the UN Secretary General to task a delegation to investigate this great atrocity and the conditions of prisons in Iran, especially that of political prisoners.

Mrs Rajavi pointed out that opening fire on the prisoners, concurrent with the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people against this regime, depicts the unimaginable barbarism of a medieval regime which is incapable of confronting the uprisings thus resorts to these barbaric acts to prevent spread of social upheavals. She added that undoubtedly the Iranian people will not tolerate these atrocities and will rise up to topple this regime with even greater resolve.
