Khamenei’s disgraceful deceptive show of ‘pardon’ on the anniversary of Iran’s anti-monarchical revo

Lion and Sun official symbol of the NCRINCRI – The ruling henchmen in Iran refrain from releasing prisoners who have completed their sentences as well as people arrested for no reason or with no evidence in the course of the extensive so-called ‘boosting public security plan’ patrols by the regime’s suppressive forces, in order to free them instead through a deceptive move as a ‘pardon’ by the mullahs’ Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, on the anniversary of the anti-monarchical revolution in 1979.

At the same time, reports indicate that the mullahs’ Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) plans to organize a staged visit by delegations from human rights associations. As such, the mullahs’ henchmen have evacuated a number of wards in various prisons of the country and have transferred the prisoners to other locations. The regime’s agents plan to repair the torture chambers and evacuated locations, transforming them into normal settings, in order to prepare for the human rights delegations. Obtained reports indicate that in recent days a number of officials from the mullahs’ MOIS and so-called ‘revolutionary courts’ have repeatedly visited these locations.

Following the evacuation of some cells and torture chambers, the density of several wards such as Ward 350 of the notorious Evin prison in Tehran has reached unprecedented levels. In many cases, political prisoner wards have been dedicated to regular prisoners. In Isfahan, too, a group of prisoners from Dastgerd prison were transferred to the Asadabad torture chamber, 30 km from Isfahan, and are incarcerated in appalling conditions. Reports also indicate that the density of prisoners in this torture chamber, which is not even tolerable in normal circumstances, has increased six-fold.

The Iranian Resistance condemns the ruling mullahs’ deceptions and ridiculous theatrics that during the past 30 years of their rule have brought nothing for the Iranian people but execution, torture, poverty, and destruction. Freedom of opinion, in defense of which tens of thousands lost their lives, was one of the most basic demands of the Iranian people during the February 1979 revolution.

The Iranian Resistance once more condemns the religious fascism ruling Iran, whose massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 and the killing of 120,000 Iranians constitutes only a small part of its crimes. It is high time for governments in Europe and the United States to appoint permanent special human rights envoys to Iran, refer the mullahs’ human rights dossier which is filled with cruelty and crimes by the religious dictatorship to the UN Security Council, implement a firm policy, and impose immediate and internationally binding measures in order to end the violent suppression and appalling human rights abuses in Iran.
