Iran: Twenty arrested on advertising for the Mojahedin

The mullahs arrested 20 individuals on charges of sending short telephone messages in support of the Mojahedin in Tehran

NCRI – The state-run website Jahan quoted a "well informed official" as saying, "A twenty member team was arrested for transmitting short telephone messages in support of the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) in northern Tehran."

"The individuals were transmitting their messages through Iran Cell Company. People receiving these messages thought that they were coming from abroad since the caller's number did not appear on their LCDs," Jahan added.

The website confirmed the continuity of the SMS in support of the PMOI and said that they come on regular basis every two weeks. The messages encourage the receivers to rise against the government and also introduce the PMOI websites, Jahan said at the end.

The same news was published in other government-run media specifically mentioning the one transmitted on the anniversary of the PMOI's foundation.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations especially the UN Special Rapporteur on Freedom of Expression to condemn the suppressive measures adopted by the mullahs' regime against Iranian people and try to free the detainees.
