Iran: Suppressive measures in enrolling students

NCRI – The mullahs’ regime has imposed an obligatory statement to be signed by the students of Art University in Tehran adhering to regulation set as a pre- condition of enrolment, the government-run website advarNews reported on January 25.

Deputy administrator on students and cultural affairs, Ahmad Tondi admitted to such shameful tactics and said, “Students’ physical appearance and their clothing, proper wearing such as long dress and veil in accordance with the university standards, observing ethical codes in [students] relationships and… the letter(referring to the pre-condition of enrolment) which was sent to students is nothing new and it contains regulation set in the country in the course of past 28 years and needs to be remanded every now and then.”

The regime issues various restrictive and regulatory statements by the disciplinary committees to prevent students’ uprisings and demonstrations and to combat the volatile state of the society.
