Iran: Suppressive measures 24 hours before the soccer match

NCRI – The mullahs’ regime fearful of protests by youths has adopted suppressive measures to control any possible unrest resulting from tomorrow’s soccer match between Estiqlal and Perspolis soccer teams.

"The State Security Forces (SSF) has made special plans, both for inside and outside [of the stadium] to ensure security during the match," the state-run television reported today.

"In the buses going to the stadium, in addition to uniformed SSF agents, there will be some under cover agents on board to act swiftly should there be any possible disturbances," a SSF commander said today on television.
Directorate of Traffic in Tehran’s city hall earlier toady, out of fear of possible protests, issued a statement cautioning people that "under no circumstances should they tear down the government owned buses."
The clerical regime’s increasing fear over people participating in a soccer match is an indication of its greater panic of popular uprisings by the workers, students, teachers, women, and youths particularly in recent months in Iran.
