Iran: Sharif University students demonstration

Sharif University entranceNCRI – Students of the Sharif University in Tehran protested the visit by Mohammad-Javad Larijani, a deputy chief of mullahs’ judiciary, on Sunday, according to reports by the Social Headquarters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) inside the country.

As Larijani entered the university hall to deliver his speech he was booed and students started chanting anti-government slogans; “Death to the dictator,” and “For as long as Ahmadinejad is around, [protests] will go on,” and then walked out of the hall and continued chanting “The coup d'état government, resign, resign,” and “Student will die but not humiliated.”

Protest today was the tenth by students since reopening of the universities in the new academic year. It took place while the agents of the State Security Forces and the university guard known as Herasat (branch of the Ministry of Intelligence and Security) were trying to create an atmosphere of terror in a bid to prevent students protest.
