Iran: Religious fascism took a step beyond its usual barbaric measures

– Unprecedented measures in executions, murdering political prisoners, amputating prisoners’ limbs, and killing of wounded inmates
– Mrs. Maryam Rajavi calls on the UN Secretary General and Security Council as well as other related international bodies to condemn the Iranian regime’s barbarism
NCRI – Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, calls on the UN Secretary General, the UN Security Council, and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to adopt urgent measures to stop the barbaric and unprecedented human rights violations by the mullahs’ regime in recent weeks.

Three weeks into the New Year, the Iranian regime executed at least 23 prisoners, murdered a dissident student in the northwestern city of Sanandaj, executed another wounded prisoner laying on a stretcher in the northern city of Khoy, amputated limbs of five prisoners in the southeastern city of Zahedan, sentenced two teenagers to be thrown off cliff in sack in the southern city of Shiraz, she said. In addition it committed hundreds of other appalling crimes in fear of popular uprisings by the people living in miserable conditions: poverty, sky rocketing prices, governmental corruption and suppression, added Mrs. Rajavi.

New wave of suppression and barbarity by the ruling clerics is amid widespread student demonstrations, popular protests over the heating gas shortages and death of scores of citizens last December, has apprehended the mullahs a great deal.

On January 2, eleven prisoners were hanged in Tehran and the holy city of Qom; on January 7, five others were sent to gallows in the southeastern city of Zahedan, and on January 10, seven prisoners were hanged in three cities of Birjand in the east, Tonekabon in the north and Jahrom in the southern Iran.

On January 6, Ibrahim Lotfollahi, a 27-year-old student in Sannandaj University was murdered under torture by the local agents of Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) while in custody.  However, the MOIS local office in Sanandaj told Lotfollahi’s family that their son committed suicide in detention on January 15.  Fearing people’s reaction, the MOIS agents buried the youngster without allowing his parents to see his corpse.

The members of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) arrested and later executed Mr.  Hasan Hikmet Demir, reported an Iranian Kurdish publication Asu. He was wounded in the course of his arrest and was executed while on a stretcher.

On January 6, the mullahs’ regime amputated the right hand and left foot of five prisoners in the provincial capital of Zahedan. They were accused of taking part in the recent unrests in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan. The victims were identified as M.A. Jalali, A.B. Rigi, A. Rigi, A.R. Roudini and D. Pahlevan.

On January 3, the mullah’s judiciary announced that it will execute two young men identified as Tayeb and Yazdan by throwing them off a cliff in a sack in the southern city of Shiraz.
Mrs. Rajavi again reiterated the urgency of referring the clerical regime’s human rights dossier to the UN Security Council for action. She called for imposing comprehensive sanctions on the mullahs’ bloodthirsty regime.

The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said that putting an end to silence and inaction in the face of the regime’s new wave of arbitrary executions, adventurism in the Persia Gulf, meddling in Iraq and Afghanistan and warmongering in Lebanon and Palestine as well as enhancing its nuclear projects for expediting the acquisition of nuclear weapons, is a crucial test for the international community in defense of human rights, peace, and the fight against terrorism.
